Hooks School "Read to a Child" Volunteer Recognized as "Difference Maker of the Week" by the New England Patriots

Lenny Young (center of the photo with a football) was recognized as a New England Patriots Difference Maker of the Week recently. Lenny volunteers at the Hooks School with the "Read to a Child" program, and has been doing so for 20 years.
CHELSEA, Mass. – On Thursday, January 16, at the Hooks School, Read to a Child mentor Lenny Young was recognized after his selection as a "Difference Maker of the Week" by the New England Patriots and the New England Patriots Foundation! Hooks School Principal Dr. Kim Crowley and Assistant Principal Randy Grajal accompanied Lenny and staff representing Read to a Child to commemorate the occasion.
Lenny has read to students at the Hooks School for 20 years as a volunteer with Read to a Child! He has been a positive influence on multiple elementary school children over the years at the Hooks. Read to a Child pairs volunteer mentors like Lenny with students at the Hooks. Lenny is paired with the same student throughout their four years at the Hooks, developing a story relationship with them to help them improve their reading and increase their enthusiasm for books.
