    Families are invited to attend this important meeting to learn more about Title I programs and how Chelsea Public Schools supports student learning and family engagement.

    Location: Chelsea High School Auditorium

    This meeting is open to all CPS families.

  • Chelsea Public Schools Welcomes New DESE Commissioner Pedro Martinez for Special Visit

    On Tuesday, October 7th, 25th commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Pedro Martinez visited the Chelsea Public Schools for the first time. The Berkowitz Elementary School, a 2024 DESE School of Recognition, welcomed the new commissioner with an afternoon of visiting classrooms and meaningful conversations with school administrators, teachers and students.   • Chelsea Public Schools, Catie’s Closet Announce Partnership to Bring Clothes and Essentials to Chelsea Students and Families

    On Tuesday, September 23, CPS and Catie's Closet announced a special partnership that will provide clothing and necessities to students at the Mary C. Burke Elementary School and the Morris H. Seigal Clark Avenue Middle School. Both schools now have "In-School" Closets courtesy of Catie's Closet and a third closet will be opening at Chelsea High School later this school year.   • A new early literacy safety net in Massachusetts

    Chelsea Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Almi G. Abeyta co-authored an article published by the Thomas B. Fordham Institute to illustrate how high-dosage tutoring has been used to create a first-grade literacy safety net for CPS students. Elementary school students who have received high-dosage tutoring have made significant growth in reading, helping close a literacy achievement gap.   • Chelsea Schools Students and Families Show How Strong Relationships Drive Student Success

    During the final week of July at Harvard University’s Gutman Library, two groups representing Chelsea Public Schools presented at the EdRedesign’s Institute for Success Planning Summer Workshop. In one presentation, students, families, and CPS staff joined educators from across the country to share CPS’ learning and speak on a panel to educators who were preparing to launch Student Success Planning in their respective districts. In the other presentation, current Chelsea High School students and recent CHS graduates spoke to educators about what attributes young adults feel are important and necessary in thinking about a caring and supporting adult mentor (Navigator).   • Raising the Bar: Chelsea Students Post Best Advanced Placement Exam Results in Five Years

    Chelsea high school students raised the bar on Advanced Placement (AP) exams in 2025, achieving the district’s strongest performance in at least five years. The number of students taking exams, total exams completed, scores of 3 or higher, and students recognized as AP Scholars all reached their highest levels since 2020. Click here to read more.
