Chelsea Virtual Learning Academy (CVLA) is an alternative school opened in September 2021 by Chelsea Public Schools with the designation as a Single District Virtual School (SDVS), one of six such public schools in Massachusetts. CVLA offers a small, personalized learning environment for its students and families. The school currently serves students in grades 5-12. Students take courses in mathematics, English Language Arts, science, and history. The school places a high value on developing our students academically and socially. Therefore, CVLA offers many different enrichment opportunities through our advisory program by exposing students to interesting guest speakers and participating in virtual field trips. CVLA has 3-4 "meet ups" per year where students meet their teachers and other students to work on team building and in person learning together. Our high school students can take college courses free for credit through the dual enrollment program. CVLA currently partners with Bunker Hill Community College and Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology.
